Work Type: Hybrid until Sept. 1 2024, then fully on site.Job SummaryNY AMI is a five-year initiative with a budget of ~500M. The main build-out of the project started in 2020 and has a planned completion date of December 2025 with the financials not closing out until 1st quarter 2026. \xe2\x80\x9cAMI\xe2\x80\x9d stands for Advanced Metering Infrastructure (smart meters) and is an essential foundation for NY grid modernization. AMI includes the replacement of existing electric meters and the upgrading of gas meters with smart devices, including systems designed to provide two-way customer communications. AMI provides real-time information to improve customer service, support power restoration efforts, improve power quality and enable customer conservation efforts.This position will lead the NY AMI Project Management Office (PMO) which will include fiduciary responsibilities, Control, Legal, contracting, Procurement, coordination of cross functional teams (internal and external), report generation and publication, schedule development and maintenance, and resource planning. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Technical Projects.NY AMI network/meter deployment completion date will be year-end 2025 with clean-up activities in the first part of 2026. This position could also take on leading large technical multi-year projects on a go forward basis. This is just one project of a portfolio of technical projects within the Digital Transformation area.Major Roles & ResponsibilitiesMajor Responsibilities -Lead all fiduciary responsibilities for the NY AMI Project including, working with Investment Planning, preparing and managing both Capital and O&M budgets, prepare monthly and annual forecasts, provide variance explanations follow accounting and procurement requirements, develop cost-benefit analysis, analyze and report rate-based additions (RBA), and track both Capital investment and RBA back to approved amounts noted in current NY Joint Proposal.Procurement Activities include \xe2\x80\x93 developing justifications for variation requests for AMI framework agreements (FAs) and as needed, the creation of new FAs. Create PRs, POs, and process invoice payments.Understanding of regulatory impacts on project in matters related to compliance with regulatory directives.Evaluates and summarizes documents for regulatory, policy, strategy, and business financial implications, including but not limited to Company documents, regulatory filings, interrogatories, orders, and reports.Designs, implements, and tracks Program KPI\xe2\x80\x99s with other AMI Leads and implements corrective actions as appropriate.Leverage change management to accelerate process standardization and technology utilization to improve organizational effectiveness.Provides expertise, direction and immediacy of decision making. Holds project team members accountable for results. Coaches and guides team members. Resolves disputes.Conducts/participates in regular program/project financial meetings.Responsible for project presentations, reports, and regulatory requests.Identifies risk, determines mitigation strategies, and updates risk register on a quarterly basis.Primary point person for Internal and External Audits \xe2\x80\x93 responses to inquiries and monthly meetings.Primary point of contact with Procurement, Legal, and Control.Gains IOC notation and appropriate management operating committee approvals.Leads development of business processes, protocols, and tools.Manages NY AMI SharePoint/Teams site from a financial perspective.Completes other duties as assigned by the Program Director Smart Grids and Senior Manager, Technical Projects.Job RequirementsEducation & Experience Required:High proficiency with the establishment of project accounting according to guidelines to ensure cost recovery through accurate reporting.High proficiency with SAP for financial expense reporting, budgeting, forecasting and tracking, including invoicing payments and accrual processes.Knowledge and experience navigating the Procurement Process.Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree required, Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree preferred.
