Qualifications:

The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Teradata Platform Operations Specialist to join the Boeing Data Solutions Service team. This position can be based out of Kent - WA; Auburn - WA; Bellevue - WA; Berkeley - MO; Chicago - IL; Colorado Springs - CO; El Segundo - CA; Everett - WA; Hazelwood - MO; Herndon - VA; Huntington Beach - CA; Huntsville - AL; Long Beach - CA; Mesa - AZ; North Charleston - SC; Oklahoma City - OK; Plano - TX; Renton - WA; Ridley Park - PA; San Antonio - TX; Seal Beach - CA; or Seattle - WA.

Position Responsibilities

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

Planning work with customers and Teradata vendor using forecast data for any future expansion of hardware

Defining and implementing user account security, network security and access management

Managing workloads from multiple customers sharing the same system

Determining priority and system resources allocation

Upgrading all systems and work issues as they are identified

Supporting Customers \xe2\x80\x93 Performance analysis, backup and recovery

Defining and updating SOx control as needed and participating in internal and external audits

Coordinating changes coming from 3rd party vendor, working as a liaison between the Data Center and the Teradata Vendor personnel

Supporting on-call and system outages

Coordinating work between customers, Teradata vendor, the Data Centers, and any 3rd party vendor with regard to system outages

Working with vendors during unplanned outages to find the root cause and implement fix as required

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team\xe2\x80\x99s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):

3+ years of experience with administration of Teradata systems

3+ years of experience with Linux/Unix based operating systems

3+ years of experience with Shell Scripting in a Unix/Linux hosting environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience):

Experience with server virtualizations and cloud operations

Networking knowledge such as: TCP/IP, Active Directory, SSO, Multi-homing

An understanding of network and cloud storage services like SAN, NAS, & S3

Ability to provide technical solutions to complex problems that require ingenuity and creativity

Good interpersonal, communication, and customer relations skills, reputation as a \xe2\x80\x98team player\xe2\x80\x99

Ability to work independently, one on one, or in a group setting

Experience in a large and diverse production environment

Positive \xe2\x80\x98can-do\xe2\x80\x99 attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment

Experience with both physical & virtual systems

Experience with SAFe/Agile Methodology

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years\' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years\' related work experience, Master+7 years\' related work experience, 13 years\' related work experience, etc.).
