The Transportation Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented Mid-to-Senior Transportation and Environmental Planner to support our District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia (DMV) Environmental Transportation Planning Market Sector. The focus of this position will be on executing and managing projects and expanding our overall environmental transportation planning practice in the areas of delivery of a variety of technical reports (resource-specific memoranda, alternatives analysis, early planning studies, etc.), environmental documents (National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), agency coordination, and public outreach. Our Environmental Transportation Planning team is a truly multi-discipline practice focused on providing collaborative and integrated solutions to foster improved transportation investments and community benefit.In this position, the appropriately qualified candidate will support the development of and management of environmental compliance documents, technical analysis, agency coordination, and public outreach. The applicant should be able to demonstrate relevant experience in the preparation of environmental documents including but not limited to National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents, alternatives analysis and evaluation, development of purpose and need statements and a variety of technical reports. The position will be based in Richmond, Virginia and will report to the Environmental Transportation Planning Market Sector in the DMV. AECOM supports a hybrid work model, and remote candidates will be considered for this position. The candidate will work with local, regional and national transportation professionals within AECOM to execute projects and to support business development activities (i.e., proposal development, client marketing) working with federal, state and local transportation clients in the region and beyond, such as FRA, FTA, FHWA, DRPT, VDOT, MTA and local agencies.This is a growth opportunity for the right person with industry experience and an entrepreneurial spirit to strengthen AECOM's environmental transportation planning practice today and build it for tomorrow.
