This position is located in Roy, UT or Huntsville, AL and supports the Sentinel program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. Work with design engineers in selection and application of non-metallic materials systems, This includes environmental coatings, adhesives, sealants, composite materials, and supporting hardware.
Create Material, Process, Component Specifications or Source Control Documents to meet Program Requirements
Lead and Conduct qualifications of new materials/components, processes, and ageing studies to meet program service life.
Work with manufacturing and subcontractors to resolve qualification, producibility, and test issues with non-metallic parts and their related processes.
Manage Bill-of-Materials, new part requests, part objects, and part attributes in a Product Lifecycle Management System.
Support Supply Chain with component procurement requirements, selection of suppliers, and procurement issues
Tailoring and allocating of non-metallic requirements to System, Subsystem, and Unit Level Specifications.
Support Program Subcontractors with non-metallic Part requirements interpretation and review of Subcontractor Data Requirements Lists (SDRLs)

Must be a US Citizen with an active DOD Secret Security Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
Familiarity with non-metallic materials and processes used in aerospace / military applications.
Experience with non-metallic materials testing and qualification and/or related manufacturing processes (coating application, Composites manufacturing and/or repair, adhesive bonding, etc.).
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Bachelor of Science degree in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Chemistry, or applicable STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline
Experience writing, auditing, and maintaining material and/or process specifications.
Familiarity with material aging studies, Arrhenius methodology and/or accelerated life testing.
Working knowledge of MIL-STD-11991 and it\xe2\x80\x99s application to missile programs, MIL-STD-1568 for corrosion prevention of Aerospace Weapons Systems, and MIL-STD-7179 Finishes, Coatings, and Sealants for the Protection of Aerospace Weapons Systems.
Working knowledge of Failure Analysis, physics of failure, Root Cause & Corrective Action, component specifications, component screening & qualification, component application qualification, and related installation/assembly process specifications for aerospace and/or space applications
Experience in the review and approval of subcontractor material / processing procedures.
Active DOD Secret or Top-Secret clearance. "
Salary Range: $84,200 - $139,600 Salary Range 2: $104,400 - $173,200 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\'s experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
