Shelter Veterinarian!
The City of San Bernardino is seeking a service-oriented self-starter able to work in a fast-paced environment responsible for performing a full range of professional veterinary medical services that requires considerable independent judgement and competency in the care and treatment of sheltered animals. Under general direction, performs veterinary services including spay/neuter surgeries; examines and determines preventative medical care and treatments for shelter animals and stray animal emergency cases; vaccinates; and provides oversight for the security and dispensing of drugs and ensures compliance with all federal and state regulations. This classification is responsible for supervising the work of veterinary medical staff in animal health or euthanasia procedures as well as managing the care and full medical treatment of sheltered animals.
The selected candidate for this position will receive a one-time, non-pensionable bonus of $20,000!

Strong surgical and diagnostic skills, understanding of shelter medicine, epidemiology, infectious disease, veterinary forensics, and herd
health is a plus.
