PSI is the largest privately owned shipyard in Hawaii, with two of the largest dry docks in the state. We have been in business since 1944 and have a large labor force of skilled craftsman with a full support staff of professionals who comprise of engineering, project management, QA, EHS, accounting, contracts, and human resources.We are seeking a highly qualified Ship Superintendent to join our Project Management team. The Ship Superintendent reports to the VP of Programs with functional reporting to the Project Manager and manages a portion of ship repair maintenance packages that may include installation, modification, and repair of complex equipment and systems. The Ship Superintendent ensures that assigned work is completed on time and within an established budget. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with shared responsibility for the successful outcome of the assigned project.The Ship Superintendent often works with the crafts to discuss and coordinate production work and must have excellent communication skills to coordinate and work with subcontractors and the customer, ensuring problems are resolved to ensure work flows smoothly.The Ship Superintendent must be able to assess production progress and discuss production challenges with the Project Management Team and production team. Interacting with other shipyard departments, including the customer, is also common.Essential Duties & Responsibilities
