The Shop Service Technician is responsible for performing complex diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance on customer and dealer-owned heavy construction equipment. This role requires a high degree of technical expertise and may involve some guidance from the Service Manager, Service Location Manager, or Shop Foreman.Responsibilities:

• Diagnostics and Repairs: Conduct comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on John Deere equipment and technology, ensuring all tasks meet Coastline Equipmentxe2x80x99s standards for quality and safety.
• Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to Service Technician Trainees and other Service Technicians to help build the next generation of skilled professionals.
• Customer Support: Participate in customer clinics and demonstrate effective solutions to support client needs and enhance their understanding of equipment maintenance.
• Field Service: Conduct field diagnostics and repairs as required, maintaining a professional and client-centered approach.
• Documentation and Accountability: Ensure thorough and timely documentation of diagnostics, repairs, and other service tasks. Accurately submit work orders and billable time as part of operational efficiency.
• Continuous Learning: Participate in ongoing training programs to enhance skills and keep up-to-date with advancements in equipment and technology.
• Maintenance of Tools and Work Environment: Maintain clean and orderly work areas and ensure all tools, vehicles, and equipment are in optimal working condition.
• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and regulations, demonstrating a commitment to safety for oneself and others.
• Knowledge Maintenance: Stay current on John Deere and competitive product updates to better serve clients and enhance service quality.

Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge:

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years performing service repairs; demonstrated experience consistently meeting performance metrics preferred.
• Technical Skills: Expertise in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems for off-road, construction, or heavy equipment. Experience with computer-based diagnostic tools such as Service ADVISORxe2x84xa2 preferred.
• Toolset: Must possess an adequate toolset to perform required responsibilities.
• Team and Communication Skills: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associatexe2x80x99s degree in diesel technology or a related field preferred.
• Licensing: Valid driverxe2x80x99s license required; CDL (Commercial Driverxe2x80x99s License) preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

• Wage: $31.00 - $44.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
