Description:

Teller County's Department of Human Services is looking for an experienced Caseworker III to oversee core services and child welfare programs including engagement meetings, County foster care, kinship care and adoptive services. This position will work on site in the Woodland Park, Colorado office.

What You'll Do

:


(1) Responsible for coordinating and facilitating family engagement meetings including mandatory family engagement meetings and decision point meetings; assist in preparing caseworkers for family engagement meetings and educate family members, natural supports, and other professionals about the meetings.


(2) Provide all parties with a copy of the family engagement meeting framework within specified/required time.


(3) Act as a mentor to youth in transition and assist youth in establishing independent living.


(4) Provide support to kinship providers by conducting needs assessment and non-certified and certified kinship care evaluation.


(5) Partner with assigned caseworkers to ensure kinship homes foster homes are appropriate and have met all requirements to be non-certified kinship/certified kinship providers.


(6) Develop recruitment and retention plans to increase foster homes in Teller County.


(7) Prepare and maintain foster/adoption home files. Ensure foster/adoptive homes are in compliance with all state regulations for licensed foster/adoptive home. Participate in audits of both foster care and adoption cases.


(8) Prepare safe home studies for foster care and adoption homes.


(9) Prepare cases for adoption including all required court, state level documents, including adoption assistance paperwork (initial through renewal).


(10) Enter documentation into the statewide system i.e. Trails legacy and Trails Mod.


(11) Participate in state level meetings for the various programs and attend training as required.


Requirements:

What You'll Bring:

Bachelor's degree in social work or behavioral science, master's preferred Two (2) years' social casework experience Key skills include empathy, compassion, strong communication, cultural sensitivity, problem solving, conflict resolution, teamwork, and collaboration Understanding of statutes and regulations including Children's Code and rules and regulations pertaining to child welfare and youth in transition Ability to successfully complete the Colorado Child Welfare Training Academy

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary range: $2,436 - $2,557 (semi-monthly)


Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt
