The Child Protection division of Human Services Public Health in Health and Human Services is seeking to fill multiple Child Protection Social Worker vacancies. The primary functions of these positions are listed below. Each individual vacancy will have specialized duties and responsibilities depending on the area of assignment: Investigations, Case Management, and Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) Investigations or Case Management.
The new Child Protection Social Workers will participate in the induction training on Hennepin County\'s policies, procedures, and practices as well as mandated Department of Human Services training. This will include in-person and virtual instructor-led training, court room training, job shadowing other Child Protection Social Workers on a rotational basis, and close supervision while receiving initial case assignments.

Effective December 31, 2023, there will be a general salary adjustment of 2.5% to the minimum and maximum of the range.

Location and hours:
These positions are hybrid and will be performed both on-site at various designated Child Protection satellite offices, in the community, and remote as job duties require. Work hours will typically be Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. but flexibility will be required to work outside of these hours and at times that will include evenings and weekends. Additionally, various Child Protection Social Worker positions will require being able to report/respond in person to an emergent situation within 30 to 60 minutes. While these positions are designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin.
New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022, to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment.
