Your Opportunity
Stantec Government Services (GS) is seeking an experienced, highly motivated, resourceful, and detail-oriented Socioeconomic Subject Matter Expert (SME) with a focus on environmental planning and processes to support various economic and socioeconomic analyses for Stantec GS\'s Environmental Planning/Permitting, Encroachment Planning, and Asset Management teams. This position is assigned to our Santa Barbara, CA office but can be REMOTE.
Stantec GS is a professional infrastructure and environmental services company, with expertise in the planning and implementation of encroachment control and mitigation efforts at military installations and associated operational equities throughout the United States
Your Key Responsibilities
Drafting reports on the regional economic impact of military installations and operations
Conducting socioeconomic and environmental justice impact assessments for proposed projects
Serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and author of select sections (Socioeconomics, Environmental Justice, etc.) of Environmental Impact Statements (EISs) and Environmental Assessments (EAs)
Conducting cost effectiveness and net present value analyses in accordance with Office of Management and Budget (OMB) guidance in circulars (A-11, A-94, etc.)
Providing technical leadership on projects and thought leadership on solutions to economics, socioeconomics, and environmental justice challenges
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel
Advanced experience in MS Excel preferred
Strong administrative, logistics, and written and oral communications skills and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office
The ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
The ability and commitment to work collaboratively with all groups, including staff, management, and other stakeholders
Working knowledge of military operations and codes of conduct
Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
Position requires a drug screen
Education and Experience
Bachelor\'s degree in economics, econometrics, or related disciplines
Master\'s degree preferred
Minimum of 5 years of related experience
Experience with regional input-output modeling software such as IMPLAN, REMI, or RIMS II
National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) experience and familiarity with US environmental laws and regulations
