Job Description


Summary

Engineer will work on a team of truly talented individuals and be responsible for design, build and testing (using automation scripts but not limited to unit/integration/performance testing) of Individual & Family Retail Health Insurance applications and its components that interface with complex enterprise systems and external vendor systems. Engineer will havesolid knowledge working with complex distributed applications and passion for technologies by solving data integration challenges. Individual will have zeal and drive to be up to speed with latest development in tech arena.

Engineer must be a highly motivated, well-rounded, team player and self-starter that works best in a collaborative, dynamic, agile environment. Excellent communication skills both written and oral are also essential as this position will interface with remote scrum teams, business owners, enterprise architects, security, infrastructure, and end users via email, phone, IM, desktop sharing, and wiki.

Is expected to lead by example, exhibiting technical excellence and development of expert level business domain knowledge. Influences technical direction within the ART and across ARTs. Advocates for a shared technical vision, enables others to act to fulfill the vision. Challenges existing processes through relentless improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop data warehousing systems by using Informatica tools
  • Create proper technical documentation outlining the entire process
  • Resolve and provide solutions to any issues that may arrive
  • Ownership of projects and responsible for deliverables
  • Participate and actively contribute in all the agile ceremonies and meetings.
  • Mentor and Lead the team by examples
  • Leads the tuning of ETL processes
  • Leads the tuning of databases
  • Responsible for timely project deliveries
  • Leads in writing and reviewing software functional specifications and design reviews
  • Provides guidance to more junior staff
  • Provides input to continuously improve ETL process discipline and resulting output quality
  • Participates in writing and reviewing software functional specifications and design reviews
  • Collaborates with development teams, business units to identify, define, develop and implement new data source feeds
  • Monitors usage of the Data Warehouse to identify potential capacity overloads and bottlenecks
  • Assists with tuning of ETL processes and database performance
  • Design and develop any/all necessary ETL processes
  • Responsible for loading and validating data into the data warehouse
  • Provides support for technical issues and ensuring system availability
  • Remains current on Data Warehousing technologies, testing industry trends and best practices
  • On-call duties
Skillset
  • Engineer should be very familiar with advanced concepts and have relevant, hands-on experience in many of the following areas to be a successful contributor on the team:
  • Expert Knowledge of systems development, analysis and application design principles.
  • Expert UNIX/LINUX and Oracle 12c experience
  • Complete understanding of relational database design and architecture
  • Experienced in test automation for Informatica ETL jobs.
  • Experienced in designing, developing and documenting CI/CD pipe line for ETL jobs
  • Test Automation Skills using Behavioral Driven Development.
  • Document-centric data architecture (XML DB/NoSQL).
  • Knowledge of reporting/BI tools such as Tableau would be plus.
  • Full-stack engineering mindset with a passion for excelling in all areas of the software development life cycle such as analysis, design, development, automated testing, and DevOps.
  • Advanced Informatica design and development skills using Informaticapower center and power exchange. (10.1+ preferred)
  • Experience in designing, developing and documenting Informatica PowerCenter ETL mappings using Designer, Workflow Manager, Workflow Monitor, and Repository Manager
  • Experience using parameter files, parameters/variables and troubleshooting using advanced Informatica techniques like session partitioning, push down optimization etc.
  • Unix (Sun Solaris or Linux)
  • 4+ years of experience writingshell scripts.
  • Expertise in running jobs using various schedulers.
  • Must be well versed with all UNIX commands needed for running ETL jobs as well as for troubleshooting source and target files.
Qualifications
  • Typically ten or more years of solid, diverse work experience in IT with a minimum of five years\' experience application program development, or the equivalent in education and work experience. Ideal candidate will have relevant experience either as a consultant or working for a start-up company.
  • 10+ years Informatica Developer experience
  • 4+ years of Oracle database experience
  • 4+ years of experience writingshell scripts.
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
