Synopsis The Spa & Salon Supervisor supports the Spa Director in managing all aspects of the day-to-day Spa & Salon, Retail, e-Commerce and Shipping & Receiving, operations and related services, its financial performance, and provides support to the Spa Director in the implementation of strategic initiatives at the spa. Maximizes productivity and ensures adequate staffing levels; inspects and implements necessary safety and sanitation guidelines; and conducts maintenance and housekeeping inspections. Bachelor degree preferred plus one (1) to three (3) years of spa/salon management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have experience at creating a spa/salon environment and experience consistent with a 5 star setting. Must have strong written and oral communication skills. Proven ability to motivate, inspire, train, develop, and direct management and staff. Must be able to prioritize and be able to multi-task. Must be experienced in Word, Excel, Outlook & Industry PMS system(s). Must be able to interpret documents such as, staff schedules, meeting minutes, safety rules, policy and procedure manuals, standards and procedures, disciplinary notices, and performance reviews. In the absence of the Spa Director, the Spa & Salon Supervisor is responsible to direct the Spa operation. Must comply with established pre-employment screening policies. Summary The Spa & Salon Supervisor manages all aspects of the day-to-day Spa & Salon operations and related services, supports the Spa Director in managing the financial performance and in the implementation of strategic initiatives at the spa. Maximizes productivity and ensures adequate staffing levels; performs spa reception desk and attendant duties as needed; inspects and implements necessary safety and sanitation guidelines; and conducts maintenance and housekeeping inspections. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Must adhere to The Spa at Graduate Providence and MPTN Policies and Procedures. Supports the Spa Director and Executive Spa Director with department budget compliance; forecasting occupancy, revenue and expenses; payroll processing, purchasing and procurement; inventory; evaluate and recommend results-oriented strategies to enhance sales and incentivize employees. Ensure safe cash / payment handling procedures. Provide marketing support including but not limited to contributing to a monthly newsletter, assisting with photo shoots and representing the company as directed. Consistently develop and grow service and retail sales through events, training, tools, and monitoring. Resolve guest and associate issues using the HEART standard. Monitor customer satisfaction by reviewing surveys and direct customer engagement. Implement ongoing skills training to ensure service standards and encourage retention. Ensure consistency in compliance of department mission, vision, values, service standards, policies and procedures, and treatment/service protocols. Interviews, hires, trains, supervises, disciplines and counsels the performance of the staff. Assist Spa Director with staff scheduling, monitoring adequate staffing levels, scheduling shift adjustments as needed to maximize revenues and minimize expenses. Conduct regularly scheduled staff meetings to keep staff current on all aspects of the operation. Identify operational problem areas including but not limited to laundry, supplies, music, temperatures, odors, hazards and equipment and communicates such issues to proper staff member for resolution. Promote positive public/employee relations at all times. Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility. Contribute to monitoring menu of services and product offerings to keep pace with current trends and ever- changing guest needs and expectations. Supports any efforts and strategies to advance The Spa at Graduate Providence brand. Facilitate a strong relationship and excellent communication between the spa and Graduate Providence. Supports synergies and a spirit of teamwork between any operations operating under the Norwich Ventures brand. Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned. Education and Experience Bachelor degree preferred plus one (1) to three (3) years spa/salon management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
