Full-Time Special Education Paraprofessional

to join our team and work

1:1 with students

in our

state-approved private special education school

What You'll Do

Provide

1:1 support

to students with disabilities under the guidance of a Special Education Teacher Assist students with

academic tasks, behavioral interventions, and personal care

Keep students

engaged and on task

throughout the school day Collect

student-specific data

to support individualized education plans Implement

Physical and Psychological Management Techniques

as needed

What We're Looking For

A

caring and patient individual

who is passionate about working with students Ability to

follow individualized education and behavior plans

Strong

communication and teamwork skills

Willingness to learn

and participate in paid training

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required

Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required

Certifications will be paid for and coordinated by The Light House

Valid Connecticut driver's license

with an acceptable driving record Must pass

background checks and registry screenings

Physical Requirements

Ability to

sit, stand, walk, kneel, bend, and balance

for extended periods Ability to

lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally

Must be able to

assist students with mobility needs and personal care

Ability to

drive multi-passenger vehicles as needed

Salary & Benefits

$19.00 - $21.00 per hour
