Provide leadership for the Public Services department of the Library Services, including supervising part-time staff; conducting hiring, training, and performance evaluations; overseeing as well as performing circulation duties, assisting with the Reserves Collection and overseeing operations of the Markosian Library caf\xc3\xa9.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Duties will vary depending on need, but will include:
Overseeing the daily operations of the Markosian Library caf\xc3\xa9. This includes monthly inventory, preparing monthly spoilage reports, monitoring stock of all caf\xc3\xa9 products and ordering items to replenish supply as needed. Set and regularly adjust price points for all caf\xc3\xa9 items based on profit/cost analysis. Update caf\xc3\xa9 register to reflect accurate pricing and add new employees to cashier system as needed. Maintain and report caf\xc3\xa9 statistics.
Checking library materials in and out.
Re-shelving items in their proper place.
Answering basic library information questions.
Supervision of part time library staff.
Schedule staff members to ensure adequate coverage.
Approve staff time cards.
Hire new staff
Resolve circulation issues.
Be part of multi-campus circulation supervisor team.
Training of new staff and ongoing training of all branch departmental staff as needed.
Support annual collection inventory at the Markosian library.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued
Serve as faculty contact for reserve material.
Support, update, and maintain Course Reserve operations at Redwood to ensure that records are accurate and up to date.
Primary point person for overseeing ILL functions at Redwood campus and training additional employees on ILL practices as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Associates degree or two years college.
Preferred Qualifications
Two years working in a library setting.
Supervisory Experience.
Spanish Speaking.

Able to function in academic library environment.
In-depth knowledge of library computer systems.
Ability to train others in use of library computer systems.
Ability to work with a broad range of people from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.

28 hours per week.
Standard Work Schedule during the academic semester:
Mon: 6pm - 10pm
Tues: 1:15pm - 10pm (45 minute lunch)
Wed: 6pm - 10pm
Thurs: 6pm - 10pm
Saturdays: 9:15am - 6pm (45 minute lunch)
Hours will vary during semester breaks and during months that include holidays.
Additional adjustments can be made by mutual agreement.
Employee can not work more than 125 hours per month.
