To provide specials (PE, art, music, and electives) instruction or services to children with emotional disabilities, autism, and other impairments. This teacher primiarly serves students in LADSE K-12 in one building location.
Contributes to TRS, work is within a public school Academy.
Qualifications:
+ Four year degree from an accredited college or university
+ Valid Illinois Professional Educator License, endorsed for special education teaching in the applicable area of student disabilities (e.g., LBSI) with Highly-Qualified/Approval status in subject areas taught
+ A valid Illinois driver's license and access to a reliable, insured vehicle in order to drive between service provision locations in member districts
Physical Requirements:
The job requires light physical exertion (e.g., lifting, carrying materials or supplies, driving, clerical tasks while sitting or standing, and mobility) with the possibility of
occasional exertion (e.g., lifting more than 50 lbs.; assisting students or staff during instruction or therapy). Independent transportation is also required because LADSE staff frequently work in multiple locations within the LADSE community
