We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with students to assess, diagnose, and treat speech and language disorders. This role is essential in helping children develop effective communication skills, enabling them to succeed academically and socially. The Speech Language Pathologist will collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to create individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
Responsibilities
Conduct assessments to evaluate speech and language abilities of students.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results.
Provide direct speech therapy services to students in accordance with their IEPs.
Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate speech therapy goals into classroom activities.
Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
Educate parents and caregivers about speech and language development and strategies for support at home.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and strategies for intervention.
Stay current with best practices in speech therapy, including early intervention techniques.
Requirements
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
Valid state licensure or certification as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to speech and language disorders.
Experience working with children, particularly in a school setting or early intervention programs.
Familiarity with developing IEPs and understanding of special education processes.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with students, families, and educational staff.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team focused on student success.
Previous experience working with pediatric populations is preferred.
