Responsibilities
The SLP in the Applied Behavior Analysis Early Intervention Program will be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Licensed Psychologist, Certified Behavior Technicians and a Family Resource Specialist. This program serves children with autism with Medicaid as their primary insurance up to the age of 6. It follows the Medicaid ABA Day Treatment Program model, which provides 12 hours per week of center-based ABA with embedded speech therapy services, parent training/education, and case management. The role of the SLP is to work in conjunction with the BCBA on assessment and treatment of the patients in the program related to communication, social, speech/language, and related goals. The SLP will engage in both direct service with patients and consultation/training with the team, as appropriate. Key skillsets for this role include experience 1) working with young children with ASD, 2) being part of a multidisciplinary team, 3) doing both direct patient care and consultation/training, and 4) experience with or openness to working in an applied behavior analysis-based program.
