Overview
Following appropriate practice, the Speech/Language Pathologist evaluates, plans, and implements individual patient care, educating, counseling patients, documents progress, and participates in planning and discharging according to the department policies and procedures. A Speech/Language Pathologist must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age, goal, and diagnosis appropriate care. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development throughout the life span, be able to assess patients\' needs and status by analyzing evaluated data, and be able to interpret information to identify age-specific needs and provide appropriate care accordingly per patient care setting. A staff Speech/Language Pathologist is required to be flexible with daily scheduling and may be required to work various patient care settings.
