What we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for:

We are seeking a part-time, highly skilled, and experienced hands-on Senior Accountant / Controller to join our entrepreneurial organization during our current initial launch stage. As a Senior Accountant / Controller, you will be the second person in our accounting and finance department and will play a crucial role in assisting our CFO. We are seeking someone with experience ranging from data entry through financial account analysis.

This position requires experience in US GAAP and accounting best practices. You will prepare bank reconciliations and enter vendor invoices, journal entries, prepaids, accruals, accounting cut off, and fixed assets with exceptional attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the basic tenants of accounting, experience in QuickBooks Online, excellent MS Excel skills, and be a self-starter who is able to work independently in a remote work environment. Public company experience is a plus.

In this position, you will be working directly with the CFO. This is a part-time position of approximately 8-10 hours per week, with the opportunity to grow into a full-time role in the future as the company grows and you are the right fit.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day banking uploads and the related application of payments to accounts payable, prepare bank reconciliations, enter vendor invoices into accounts payable, assist in maintaining subsidiary ledgers such as prepaid expenses, fixed assets, capitalized software, and Capitalized gaming licenses, intercompany journal entries and reconciliations and basic general ledger maintenance and ad-hoc reporting.
• Assist with budget to actual reporting analysis and monthly compliance reporting related to our sports betting licenses.
• Your role will be critical to ensure the timely, accurate completion of interim monthly closes and to facilitate the CFO in the timely preparation of the quarterly reviews and annual audits related to our SEC filings.

• Bachelor\'s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A CPA license is desirable but not required.
• Proven experience working as a Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, or Controller in a small but growing start-up organization or a local CPA firm.
• Working knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including US GAAP.
• Proficiency in accounting software, preferably Quickbooks Online.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of integrity and ethics.
• Experience in crypto accounting and familiarity with digital assets is a plus.
• Experience in public company accounting, including SEC reporting and SOX compliance, is highly desirable.
