Together, let\'s advance the world of minimally invasive care.Primary Function of the PositionThe Sr Manager Accounting Policy & Fixed Asset Controller plays a critical role in achieving our overall goal of delivering world-class financial reporting. As the Fixed Asset Controller, this position is accountable for establishing and overseeing governance, fixed asset policy, and controls for our asset accounting process to ensure highest quality of financial reporting. This person will work closely with the fixed asset operations team to perform risk assessment, update our fixed asset policy and accounting estimates, perform systematic review of fixed asset activities, enhance our internal controls to mitigate emerging and current risks.In addition, this position will execute key initiatives and projects partnering with the Corporate Accounting leadership with the focus on Accounting Policy. This role offers a great opportunity to work closely with a wide range of the Company\'s domestic and international accounting, FP&A, business and tax groups to implement the processes needed to effectively and efficiently scale the Company\'s overall accounting and reporting processes.This will allow you to gain a broad amount of knowledge of the Company\'s business and operations that are essential for solid career development.Essential Job DutiesFixed Asset Controller

  • Perform routine risk assessment of the asset accounting process. Recommend and make changes to existing processes, controls, roles and responsibilities to mitigate current and emerging risks. This initial focus is to address process and controls around arrangements for our construction activities (embedded derivatives arrangements, contingencies, and others that require financial disclosures).
  • Own the Company\'s Fixed Asset policy (include capitalization threshold, useful life, asset classification) and provide guidance/trainings along with fixed asset operations team to global finance teams.
  • Own the key accounting estimate in asset accounting process including performing thorough examination to review and update any key estimates.
  • Conduct research on non-routine/complex asset related matters and prepare accounting memo on these transactions. Communicate effectively with other stakeholders on the accounting implications.
  • Own fixed asset accounting flow and establish any journal entry, reconciliation to ensure asset accounting is in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Accountable for review of the global asset accounting activities to ensure they are accounted for in accordance with the Company\'s policy and US GAAP.
  • Prepare and review any schedules and information including the statement of cash flows that help backup the Company\'s 10-Q/10-K.
Accounting Policy
  • Head and execute projects to achieve our vision in world-class financial reporting. Projects may include but not limited to leading the accounting assessment and establishing the process for non-standard transactions, reviewing existing process or transaction flow, driving changes to meet business goals, and establishing accounting policy for new or emerging transaction flow.
QualificationsRequired Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 8 years of public accounting experience and/or industry experience in related fields with in-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP, COSO Framework, SOX 404 risk and controls standards, and relevant industry regulations and best practices.
  • Public accounting experience is required (Big 4 is preferred).
  • Excellent ability to evaluate problems and think critically for solutions.
  • Exceptional communication and business partnering skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization; inclusive of written and verbal communications as well as visualizations.
  • Proven fundamental accounting knowledge with diverse knowledge in U.S. GAAP accounting requirements.
  • Excellent business acumen.
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to handle ambiguity effectively, oversee multiple projects at once follow-through on commitments.
  • Ability to build and develop exceptional teams.
  • Must be willing/able to work onsite 3 days/week in our Sunnyvale, CA office.
Required Education and Training
  • Certified Public Accountant is required
  • Minimum Bachelor\'s Degree is Accounting/Finance
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience in asset accounting/corporate accounting including leadership experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of SAP (or other large ERP) is preferred.
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI is a plus.
