Together, let's advance the world of minimally invasive care.Primary Function of the PositionThe individual in this role will be reporting to the IT Business Applications Senior Director. Their primary responsibility will be to lead a team of IT Business Applications technical professionals to select, deliver, operate and enhance applications to meet business objectives and technology standards. As such, they will be required to be experienced and seasoned technology leaders, with extensive domain and technical experience in the business areas they will support. They also will have responsibility to develop a strong trusted partnership with business & IT leaders to ensure the delivered solutions meet both business and technical objectives. As team manager, they will also be responsible for the professional and personal development of their team members and work closely with their colleague managers to collaborate and balance workloads effectively.Essential Job Duties

  • Technically lead team to deliver department and cross-functional projects by working with business and IT Infra teams and deliver projects successfully to meet organizational objectives.
  • The Key Business Areas / Functions to be supported are within the Enterprise Learning, Enterprise Labelling, Regulatory, Quality, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Engineering domains. Specific Business Areas supported may change over time depending on business needs.
  • Ensure applications are effectively used and licenses are monitored for utilization metrics.
  • Ensure applications are developed to meet business objectives. Identify adoption challenges and direct the team to come up with plans to address them for the users.
  • Deliver applications support to users in the supported organizations so that their productivity is not impacted.
  • Builds effective relationships with Business Partners and assumes a trusted advisory role on system selection and introduction.
  • Works with IT leadership on the annual LRM and AOP planning cycles.
  • Effectively manages the portfolio of projects within the assigned business domains, including accountability for planning, resource allocation, project delivery and transition to operations after go-live.
  • Manages their team for professional growth and coaches and mentors team members to deliver their accountable tasks.
  • Communicates effectively with all stakeholders (management, business partners, team members, partner functions and vendors).
  • Takes decisions and resolves issues that impact multiple teams and departments, given the broad scope of responsibilities often involving complex strategies and high-level objectives.
  • This role requires working onsite in our Sunnyvale, CA office 3-5 times a week.
QualificationsRequired Skills and Experience
  • Strong experience (10-15+ years) in Information Technology management, particularly in leading technical teams to deliver business facing applications.
  • Extensive domain experience in the MedTech, Life Sciences or other related fields, to provide the necessary business advisory as required by the role.
  • Effective communication ability, adaptable to the audience (IT leadership, Business Partners, Team members, and partner functions).
  • Extensive experience working on development of computer systems to Life Science regulation requirements (e.g. GxP systems, SOX, Privacy and Legal).
  • Team player and a leader for interacting with IT and business on all the projects.
  • Familiarity with Department operating procedure (DOP), System Operating Procedure (SOP) and Work Instructions (WI) is required.
  • Expertise in Vendor Management, Software Documentation, Testing, Technical Support, Software Installation, and Network Administration
  • The cross functional team leadership experience to collaborate with different departments in the organization and lead major projects, programs and initiatives.
Required Education and Training
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or associated technical degree.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in IT management / leadership roles in a complex Medical Technology, Life Sciences or otherwise technically complex regulated industry.
  • Multiple years of experience in leading teams in GxP regulated environments.
  • Prior experience in the Enterprise Learning domain, and with the leading technology solutions in this area, is a strong plus.
  • Experience in related domains such as HR, Enterprise Training, Regulatory, Quality, Legal, or Engineering are desirable.
