We get things done that make a difference.ResponsibilitiesDevelop world class search experiences incorporating software engineering best practices to enhance eBay\xe2\x80\x99s search experience.Lead complex technical efforts across many engineersInfluence stakeholders across organizations to gain support for next gen technology solutions.Interface with other teams to incorporate their innovations and vice versaConduct design and code reviewsAnalyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resourcesDrive ideas to improve product and technology stackSet direction and goals for the team regarding project impact, product quality and engineering efficiencyLead major initiatives, projects, teams, roll-outs and phased-releasesHelps onboard new team members, provides mentorship and enables successful ramp up on your team\'s code basesProactively identify and drive changes as needed for the codebase, and/or systemsQualification12+ years of software design and development experience, solid foundation in computer science with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and Software DesignExperience leading major initiatives successfullyRelevant experience building large-scale Search applications or similar experienceExperience leading projects and teams accordinglyExperience improving quality through thoughtful code reviews, appropriate testing, proper rollout, monitoring, and proactive changesExperienced in utilizing data and analysis to explain technical problems and providing detailed feedback and solutionsExperience in building large scale Web Services/ APIs (REST/ GraphQL/ gRPC)Experience in scalable distributed technologies, SQL, No-SQL databases and streaming technologies such as KafkaMaster\xe2\x80\x99s degree in computer science or Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experienceThe pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below. $168,400 - $262,900Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
