What you will do as a Sr. Scientist- Nutrition

  • The position will focus on providing the on-site technical lead and formulation support to nutritional product manufacturing activities in the Columbus, OH plant.
  • You will be the new product introduction (NPI) lead for the site, coordinating with PR&D, Columbus leadership, Quality Systems and Operations teams. This includes report-outs to the site on current and future initiatives.
  • It will involve troubleshooting of manufacturing issues and establishing root causes.
  • The position will also be an on-site connection for Product Research & Development (PR&D) to support plant trials, clinical batch manufacturing, and FLTS readiness.
  • Will establish plant-specific manufacturing line expertise and assist with improvements in formulation design and plant processes, to help the plant consistently deliver products that meet specifications.
  • Participate in projects and activities intended to reduce cost and improve product margins, as well as meeting quality and business excellence goals related to the plant operations.
  • The primary communications channel for technical/formulation issues between the Columbus plant and the Technical Development Group/Division R&D.
  • Troubleshooting of manufacturing issues/ establishing root causes/ assist with CAPA, ER and Extraneous Matter Investigations/ Trending analysis
  • Review and adjustments of CP and FS documents accuracy of work and processing orders
  • Establish plant \xe2\x80\x98specific manufacturing line expertise for liquid products
  • Assist with improvement in formation design and plant processes in order to consistently deliver products that meet specifications
Qualifications:
  • An intimate knowledge of the plant\xe2\x80\x99s liquid processing and filling lines must be developed in a timely fashion, with subsequent contributions to operational idea generation (e.g., improved process, work flow, gross margin), and technical input into the Design-To-Value process.
  • Must effectively establish a leadership and decision-making PR&D role, as it relates to the integration of routine responsibilities and project activities into the plant-based environment and work flow.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills are required for productive exchange of technical information between various functional areas of Manufacturing, R&D, and QA.
Education and Experience You\'ll Bring:

Required:

BS/MS Food Science/Nutrition/Engineering or related scientific field, with 5+ years progressive and practical related experience sufficient to demonstrate equivalency.

Requires thorough knowledge of manufacturing, filling, and packaging aspects pertaining to retort- and aseptically

Preferred:

Requires thorough knowledge of manufacturing, filling, and packaging aspects pertaining to processed liquid adult and pediatric products, as well as their nutritional, physical, and sensory characteristics.

The base pay for this position is $80,700.00 \xe2\x80\x93 $161,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
