TRC Professional Solutions is seeking a full-time Sr Structural Engineer for a major Engineering Consulting firm.
What You Will Do:
We have an opportunity for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our growing team out of our Nashville office. In this role you would:
Lead or perform the design of structural elements and systems for a variety of project types, in different industries such as manufacturing, distribution, data centers, commercial, towers, signs, historical, adaptive reuse, and renovations.
Lead or perform analysis of existing structures. Develop drawings or specifications for use during construction and ensures all projects comply with applicable codes and regulations.
Lead as a structural expert for forensic and litigation support projects. Determine cause of structural failures, damages, and defects through site investigations. Develop investigation reports and renovation solutions.
Responsibilities:
Interacting with clients, attending client, architect, and contractor meetings, reviewing structural documentation, managing, and supervising/mentoring junior staff.
Preparing design calculations and managing the preparation of the construction documents, reviewing shop drawings and submittals, performing site reviews, and preparing RFI responses.
Coordinating information across all disciplines to ensure deliverables are compliant with client expectations
Performing QA/QC of work performed by others
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, manage multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines, and bring each to completion.
Mentors and provides oversight to engineering team.
If assigned a supervisory role, is responsible for the learning, professional development, and growth of the assigned team.
What We Are Looking For:
Qualifications:
15 plus years\xe2\x80\x99 minimum experience in structural engineering.
Professional license is required.
Seismic experience is required.
Experience with industry standard software, including but not limited to Microsoft products, Bentley (RAM) products, RISA, EnerCalc, Adapt, etc.
Project management experience/ability is required.
Structural design experience utilizing different construction materials and structural systems; including but not limited to wood, steel, load-bearing light gage steel, concrete, post-tensioned concrete, and masonry design in low to mid-rise structures.
Working knowledge of Revit is preferred
Client management experience
Skills and Competencies:
Must be a self-starter and always willing to listen, learn and improve.
Ability to identify applicable codes in project-specific jurisdictions and apply to the project.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written are required.
Must demonstrate team leadership ability.
