If you\'re looking to give your accounting career a boost, Robert Half currently has a Staff Accountant position open at a growing firm in the Aerospace industry. Based in the Monmouth County, New Jersey region, this company offers an engaging and mulit-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded. As Staff Accountant, your duties will include preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. This position will require a fair amount of time dedicated to producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. You\'ll also review schedules for the reporting processes, stay in touch with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and play an active role in compliance.

Your responsibilities in this role

- Participate in various department-wide initiatives

- Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

- Maintain monthly payment schedules

- Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner

- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested

- Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments

- Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management

- Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision

- Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

- Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

- Strong familiarity with variance analysis

- Comprehensive knowledge of Manufacturing Cost Accounting

- Knowledge of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS)

- Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

- Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines

- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

- Experience with ERP systems

- 2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

- Competent with spreadsheets and databases
