You\xe2\x80\x99ll be working with a world class team of engineers, designers, product managers, and analysts to create great products that make a difference on one of the world\xe2\x80\x99s most trafficked and loved websites.The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of building large scale applications, low latency API\xe2\x80\x99s, data pipelines, and a high focus on capability oriented architecture. As the lead engineer you will be responsible for aspects of the software lifecycle : design, development, testing and experimentationWhat You Will Accomplish:Owns a large functional area within the product, possessing in-depth knowledge and expertise.Influence across domain teams and guiding others towards the right technical decisions.Improve team productivity by identifying and evangelizing opportunities for productivity improvementsIdentifying areas in the team applications likely to change and integrating flexibility in the design for these area improving engineering velocity.Practices evidence-centered design making features testable, ensuring high quality and improving velocity in continuous delivery.Manage project features, break into sub-tasks, identify and resolve issues for efficient execution.Identify gaps and issues across systems and functional areas, propose solutions, build the engineering roadmap, and drive resolution.What You Will Bring:Bachelors degree; 10 + years related experience (or Masters and 8 + years related experience or PhD and 6+ years experience)8+ years of experience with proficiency in multiple programming languages(Java/Kotlin) and frameworks(Spring/Springboot), with deep mastery in one or two specific languages/frameworksExperience in proposing and influencing technical strategy & roadmap, balancing short/long term wins is preferableDesigns and builds scalable, distributed and high-available systems, ensuring high-performant, responsive website and accessibility.Familiarity with shift left approach is a plusExperience taking a lead role delivering complex software systems#LI-HybridPlease see the for information regarding how eBay handles your personal data collected when you use the eBay Careers website or apply for a job with eBay.eBay is an equal opportunity employer.
