Responsibilities

Spring Valley Hospital is a member of The Valley Health System, a network of six acute care hospitals that provide care for patients throughout Southern Nevada and nearby communities. Located in southwest Las Vegas, the 364-bed hospital offers emergency care, advanced cardiovascular and neurological surgeries and procedures, surgical services, women\xe2\x80\x99s health, comprehensive maternity services, a level III neonatal intensive care unit, and specialty programs in stroke, chest pain, advanced wound care and hyperbaric medicine with a limb salvage program.

Performs the basic activities and related professional services necessary in the care and handling of surgical instruments
Qualifications

Job Requirements:

Education High School diploma or equivalent

Experience None necessary, completion of formal training in field preferred Technical Skills Due to the highly technical nature, especially related to interpretation of manufacturer\xe2\x80\x99s Instructions For Use (IFU), ALL SPD staff must be proficient in spoken and written English.

License/Certification None

Other Note This is a 12-month time limited positon. SPD intern will be trained and educated on the job to care for and reprocess reusable medical equipment and surgical instrumentation. The intern will successfully pass all hospital competencies for department. Certification as Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) through International Association of Healthcare Central Sterile Materiel Management (IAHCSMM) is required by the end of 12 months.
