Valley Discount Wine & Liquor is a destination for fine wine, spirits & craft beer located in Ansonia, CT. We are looking for a hard-working, enthusiastic individual to join our team in the role of a Store Associate. The position will require availability throughout the week and weekend. This position will consist of 24-30 hours per week.

The position of Store Associate entails both register responsibility and inventory maintenance. Delivering excellent customer service, balancing registers & refilling shelves are essential to this position, therefore we ask you only apply if you meet the following requirements:

JOB REQUIREMENTS

-18 years of age or older, as required by State of CT

-Ability to lift 40lbs (case of wine) repeatedly & consistently

-Ability to stand on feet for majority of your shift

-1 year customer service experience

-1 year experience handling a cash register

-available to work on major holidays & days leading up to them

-available evenings & weekends

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

-running a cash register & balancing/counting out

-maintaining a clean store environment (dusting/vacuuming/mopping)

-stocking shelves & making displays presentable

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 per hour

10 hour shift 8 hour shift Night shift

There are no seated positions for this job. You will be required to be on your feet for the entire shift (6 to 8 hours), are you able to do this? This position will require you to use a cash register and be responsible for balancing the drawer at the end of your shift. You must be comfortable handling cash. Any shortages are the responsibility of the associate. Do you understand this requirement? This position will require you to be able to lift up to 45lbs. You will also have to perform cleaning tasks, including but not limited to, vacuuming/dusting/removing trash. This may also require the use of mild cleaning agents. Are you able to perform this type of work? Shifts shorter than 7.5 hours do not receive any breaks. We do not offer cigarette breaks. Are you able to be on shift for up to 6 hours without a break? This position will require you to be able to work on Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays. Are you available to work these days?
