The Halawa to Kalihi vacancy has this requirement.Salary: $3,318 to $4,199 per month (SR-11, Step C to I)Note: Hiring rates will be based on availability of funds, the applicant\'s qualifications, and other relevant factors.This recruitment will be used to establish a list of qualified applicants to fill the current vacancies and may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur.Duties SummaryThe Storekeeper I is responsible for:

  • the day-to-day operation of a large storeroom and/or warehouse and open storage areas including the receipt, storage, issuance and stock level maintenance of a wide variety of materials, supplies and equipment,requiring judgment in recommending appropriate substitutes;
  • adjusting replenishment levels according to seasonal demands;
  • resolving other problems not clearly covered by established policies or procedures, may also have direct responsibility for an extensive surplus property storage disposal operations, and coordinate the possible reutilization of such property; and performing other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualification RequirementsTo qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:Legal Authorization To Work Requirement:
The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.Basic Experience: Graduation from high school or equivalent; or work experience (paid or unpaid), education, training or any combination thereof which demonstrated the ability to read and understand detailed but routine instructions or procedures; compare words and numbers quickly and accurately and perform mathematical calculations including multiplication and division.General Experience: SIX MONTHS of clerical work experience which demonstrated knowledge of arithmetic, including multiplication and division; and the ability to follow oral and written instructions, carry out procedures in clerical work systems, speak and write simply and directly, and compare words and numbers quickly and accurately.Specialized Experience: ONE AND ONE-HALF (1 1/2) YEARS of clerical work experience which demonstrated knowledge of storekeeping practices, methods and procedures, and inventory recordkeeping procedures.Substitutions Allowed: Relevant substitutions as described in the Minimum Qualification Requirements may apply.Driver\'s License: Some positions require possession of a valid driver\'s license at the time of appointment. The immediate vacancies have this requirement.Lift and Carry: Some positions require the ability to lift and carry objects of various weights with or without reasonable accommodation. One of the immediate vacancies requires the ability to lift/carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds assisted by another person and/or use of equipment (e.g., hoisting equipment, hand truck).Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Clearance - Federal Criminal History Records Check: In accordance with Federal regulations, persons who are being considered for employment in positions which require unescorted access to secured areas at the harbor must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint-based criminal history record check. In order to be granted the TWIC clearance, prospective employees must not have been convicted, or found "not guilty by reason of insanity," of a disqualifying criminal offense within seven years from the date of appointment. Upon recommendation for hire, prospective employees will be required to successfully undergo the fingerprint-based criminal history record check and be found free of disqualifying convictions during the preceding seven years. The cost for the records check will be the applicant\'s responsibility. However, upon hire, the employee will be reimbursed provided he/she submits the TWIC receipt to his/her supervisor.
