POSITION: Student Services Engagement Counselor (FT Temporary)
Effective immediately: (FT Temporary) Student Services Engagement Counselor in Wilmington University\xe2\x80\x99s Student Engagement Center \xe2\x80\x93 New Castle.
Requirements: Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree required. Minimum of two years\xe2\x80\x99 full-time experience in student service. Knowledge of and experience in delivering student and enrollment services preferred. Knowledge of service-oriented organizations and experience with computerized student information systems, preferably Ellucian required. Computer skills required include Word and spreadsheet software (Excel). Demonstrated data analysis and reporting skills required. This individual must highly motivated and possess excellent interpersonal communication, customer service, and organizational skills and be able to lead and develop relationships with key stakeholders. Must be detail-oriented and able to work with diverse populations. Must be self-directed and able to make decisions independently. Exceptional customer service skills and knowledge of basic service etiquette. Must have Exceptional oral and written communication skills; public speaking skills. The Counselor will provide excellent customer service, using problem resolution techniques and outreach for a wide audience. The Engagement Counselor must be student-centered, embody high-quality customer service, and be able to positively contribute to Wilmington University student retention, graduation initiatives and the overall efforts of the University to advance its mission and goals. Must be able to anticipate the needs of students and develop strategies to proactively engage them. Knowledge of higher education, enrollment services, and student development. Knowledge of Wilmington University, including institutional policies, procedures, and processes. Must possess critical leadership decision-making skills such as; identify critical factors which will affect the outcome of a decision, evaluate options accurately and establish priorities. Knowledge of Banner, Recruit, BDM, and ClarityConnect preferred. The ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in any situation is necessary.
