job summary:
A Subcontract Specialist is needed for a leading utility near Manhattan, KS. The Subcontract Specialist will play a crucial role in our procurement operations, encompassing both pre-award and post-award activities. Responsibilities will range from handling lower to moderate complexity procurement transactions for commodities to more complex acquisitions involving technical items, services, and construction.

Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor\'s degree three years of experience in Contract Management with preference given to those with a construction or engineering background. Proficiency in modern office software, knowledge of subcontractor qualifications, and experience with JD Edwards software are advantageous. Candidates with an AS degree and related experience will also be considered. This is a direct-hire role, and relocation is available for qualified candidates.

responsibilities:

• Review and clarify customer requirements, solicit sources of supply

• Evaluate quotes and bids, identifying non-conformances

• Analyze pricing, discounts, delivery, and subcontractor performance

• Perform price analysis, recommend advantageous offers

• Process procurement documents including purchase orders

• Monitor subcontractor compliance, address performance issues, and resolve problems
