GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

Under the direction of the CEO, the Director of S.U.D.S. works collaboratively with admin and medical leadership to oversee the development, implementation and management of a treatment mode for patients identified as having a S.U.D. This position will utilize project management planning, tools and communications to integrate the SUDS program into Health Center operations and provide ongoing support for all aspects of the SUD initiative for both the North End and Charlestown sites. The Director will also provide ongoing practice support as well as expand the service to include broadening the range of services within both sites. This person will with and consult with other department heads to integrate behavioral health services to better support the teams.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Management:

  • Provides general project management support to multidisciplinary teams in an organization-wide strategic and operational initiative.
  • Oversee the development, coordination and implementation of SUDS program
  • Collaborate with internal partners and team with them to create a vision and design for the establishment and growth of the SUDS department
  • Provides appropriate individual and team supervision
  • Provides ongoing supervision of staff through meetings, in-service training and reviewing literature
  • Assist staff in identification and implementation process for the need of additional clinical, medical or psychiatric interventions and referrals
  • Serves as a member of the Senior Leaders group and provides staff support to this group.
  • Develop communication plan to keep leadership apprised of bottlenecks and barriers to success.
  • Prepares project administrative documentation as needed (e.g., work plan, status reports, memos, gantt charts, meeting minutes, and project files).
  • Cultivate and manage external relationships with community treatment organizations
  • Work with Partners leadership on a State-level collaboration to fight the opioid epidemic
  • Develop workflows, processes, and procedures to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness of this initiative.
  • Provide leadership and project management, including team facilitation, benchmarking, data capture and analysis, qualitative metrics, redesign implementation and evaluation.
  • Collaborate with the data analyst to collect and report out on metrics.
  • Design, develop, implement and manage performance tracking systems.
  • Performs all other duties or special projects that are appropriate to this level of position.
Health Center Operations:
  • Ensures the implementation of health center wide initiatives into these practices.
  • Revises systems as necessary to maximize efficiency and meet health center requirements. Troubleshoots and resolves issues as they arise.
  • Informs staff of policy and procedural changes.
  • Identifies and evaluates the means for improving systems, costs and distribution of personnel.
  • Coordinate hiring and on-boarding of new employees and serve as timekeeper for all weekly paid staff
  • Participate in departmental preparation for JC and other regulatory site visits, as outlined in the Standards of Practice. Ensures the physical environment is maintained.
  • Monitor patient billing activity to ensure compliance with revenue procedures; collaborates with the Finance Department to monitor patient billing activity throughout the Revenue Cycle and to participate in process improvement related to overall collections and revenue generation.
  • Manage Epic implementation/optimization by ensuring all staff are trained, anticipating, and solving any workflow challenges
  • Manages and resolves patient complaints.
Staff Supervision:
  • Oversees the coordination of adequate coverage in areas of responsibility and is mindful of support staff morale.
  • Supervises staff and assures compliance with all HR policies
Financial Management:
  • Forecast, track expenses, and generally manage the department\xe2\x80\x99s budget
  • Monitor grant opportunities and write grant applications
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Will supervise 2 to 3 FTE\xe2\x80\x99s

SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  • Strong analytic and computer skills
  • Ability to work and make decisions independently.
  • Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Health Center setting

Qualifications
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree required, graduate degree preferred
  • 5 years of related experience
  • Strong project management skills; experience in healthcare operations preferred.
  • Skill with spreadsheets, project management tools, and databases is needed. Must be thoroughly familiar with MS Office.
  • Must be analytical and organized; able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks. Solid customer service skills are needed as well as the ability to work successfully as a member of a team.
  • Must pay attention to detail and deadlines
