JOB DESCRIPTIONLocation: Special Education Pre-K in Central Office AdministrationPre-K Special Education Evaluation Team Intervention Specialists (up to 6 positions)Program Dates: July 1, 2024 - August 23, 2024
Hours: Monday - Thursday 8:00 am - 2:30 pm [Note: No work July 4th - Holiday](\xc2\xbd hour lunch and \xc2\xbd hour unassigned period)Under direction of the Pre-K Special Education Manager and the Executive Director of Special Education, the Intervention Specialists will complete pre-k evaluations.Contingent upon enrollment and funding [contractual rate - daily rate of pay]EDUCATION TRAINING AND EXPERIENCERIDE Requirements

  • ECH PK-2 Sp. Ed.
  • Additional RIDE Requirements: Rhode Island Early Learning and Development standards classroom training
  • Working knowledge of preschool processes and requirements, early childhood development, RIELDS (RI Early Learning Standards), and must have completed all modules on RIDE Website to be prepared to facilitate and collect data for the for COS (Child Outcomes Summary) Entry Assessment as this is required for all pre-school children during the referral and eligibility process
  • Working knowledge of transition inclusive of inventories, assessments and transition planning
  • Individuals with certification AND experience in areas corresponding to case load needs
  • Experience with creation of IEPs in PowerSchool
  • Working knowledge of PowerSchool for documentation of evaluations, eligibility, and IEP placements
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND CURRICULAR LINKAGES
  • This team must complete all Pre K cases
  • The team works toward completion of all Pre k evaluations
  • EI cases are a priority, including review of transitions, new referrals, completion of evaluations and documentation related to the case
  • Contacting parents (phone calls and letters) to schedule evaluation sessions and meetings
  • Documentation of all attempts to contact families and results of that contact
  • Completion of formalized testing in area of certification and writing corresponding evaluations
  • Completion of documentation required for eligibility, inclusive of prior written notice of eligibility
  • Completion of prior written notices for IEP meetings
  • Participation as a member of a TQP for eligibility and IEP meetings
  • Weekly submission of timesheets, activity logs, and completed files
  • Must commit to work all of the days indicated in the posting
  • Input of all necessary documentation in Skyward and PowerSchool
  • Case Management of all cases assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS STANDARDS
  • Experience with PowerSchool, Skyward, COS and Pre K procedures and processes to act as LEA
