JOB DESCRIPTIONShared Locations: DelSesto Middle School and Anthony Carnevale Elementary (1 position)Nurse Teacher for Specialized Summer Grades 3, 6, and 9 Transition Programs 2024 Prep Days [NOT PD Days]: July 27, 2024
Program Dates: July 1 - July 30, 2024Hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 8:30am-2:30pmProvide health care services for students in the school setting, maintain student health records according to state regulations, perform health screenings, and maintain the health and welfare of the students.Not to exceed $5,000 (contingent upon funding)EDUCATION TRAINING AND EXPERIENCERIDE RequirementsCurrent/valid RI Teacher Certificate in the appropriate subject area PK-12 Nurse

• Bachelor\'s Degree in Education from an accredited teacher education program

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND CURRICULAR LINKAGES

• Deal with student medical needs, some complex
• Provide treatment, as needed, to students, staff members, and parents in an effective and courteous manner
• Adhere to all state and federal laws and regulations
• Maintain confidentiality of protected health information
• Must commit to working all days of program

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS STANDARDS

• Prior experience in a nursing position, especially in an urban setting (preferred)
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with others
• Ability to work under pressure
• Must be familiar with school policy and discipline procedures
• Must be familiar with emergency procedures
• Ability to effectively utilize technology

PK-12 Nurse must have:

• CPR Certification
• First Aid Certification
• Valid Rhode Island driver\'s license
