There is one (1) vacancy with the , Counseling and Drafting Division. Equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience which demonstrated the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Six years of progressively responsible legal clerical work experience, two of which must have involved supervisory responsibilities.Such experience must have demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of supervision; legal terminology; form, content and use of legal documents, legal processes, procedures and precedents; filing systems of legal records; grammar, spelling and word usage as they pertain to legal activities; and law office practices and procedures; and the ability to plan, direct and coordinate the work of a clerical staff engaged in legal clerical activities; locate and abstract data from legal files and records; supervise the maintenance of filing systems of legal records and documents; and plan training programs for subordinates.DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE: Experience in the use of a personal computer to input, retrieve, and analyze data using data base, spreadsheets, word processing or similar programs.SUBSTITUTION: An Associate degree in legal office administration, legal assistant or paralegal may substitute for two years of the legal clerical experience requirement. There is no substitution for the supervisory legal clerical experience.Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education, a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program, evidence of comparability, or an original transcript.Verification Requirement: You must submit evidence of your qualifying degree in order to be given credit for the substitution.
