Job Purpose/Summary:
The Construction Supervisor supervises/oversees construction projects for crude oil tank, marine, rail, and pipeline facilities.
Job Responsibilities
Project Management
Works closely with Operations and Engineering to ensure successful project completion.
Ensures completion of project documentation in accordance with Plains regulatory requirements.
Construction Management
Coordinates and manages construction efforts with Contractors and Company personnel to ensure safety, timely project completion, high quality, and cost effectiveness.
Ensures company\xe2\x80\x99s policies and standards are enforced during construction.
Supervises/oversees construction projects at various locations as assigned.
Provides support to Operations personnel on construction, tie-ins and commissioning of capital expansion projects.
Evaluates constructability during the design review process.
Reads and reviews all related project bid documents. Deciphers contractors bids, understands bid package drawings (electrical, mechanical, civil, structure and marine), specifications, exceptions, and aids in the selection of a contractor.
Reviews schedules and tracks schedule progress (Plains and/or Contractors).
Other Responsibilities
Represents Plains when interfacing with contractors, government and local agencies, vendors, land owners, and other utility companies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:
5 years minimum project/construction management experience.
Available during non-core working hours in case of emergencies and to meet commercial deadlines.
Demonstrated experience in pipeline and facility construction; petroleum pipelines, above ground storage tanks, docks, rail terminals, boilers, marine vapor destruction units, pumps, valves, provers, meters, and other related appurtenances.
Define various non-destructive evaluation methods (e.g., ultrasonic, radiographic, magnetic particle, dye penetrant, magnetic flux, visual, inline inspection tools, etc.).
Maintain budget cost records, track and forecast expenditures, and avoid unnecessary project cost overruns.
Demonstrate understanding of ANSI and API Industry Construction Standards.
Experience with of PHMSA, DOT, USCG, DEQ, USACE and etc. regulations.
Air and car travel is required as needed in the Gulf Coast Region.
