About the Position:
This position is located in the Department\'s Public Health Services division, STD and HIV Services. The Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) Services include screening, diagnosis and treatment of STDs, HIV Rapid Testing and linkage to care, and Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and other prevention interventions. Partner Services is conducted for reportable STDs where contacts of infected patients are confidentially notified and referred for testing and treatment as needed. HIV Services, supported through Ryan White CARE Act funds, include the HIV Clinic for medical care and treatment for people living with HIV, medical case management and client centered support services, oral health services, medical nutrition therapy, mental health and substance abuse counseling, housing services and Housing Opportunities for People with AIDS Program (HOPWA). The Supervisory Social Worker provides day to day management of the HIV Client Services Unit.
Duties include:
\xe2\xa6\x81 Provides direct clinical (Maryland LCSW-C and Supervisor Credential required) and administrative supervision to 6 professional social work staff and 7 para-professional staff, including staff planning and evaluation.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Approves cases (and monitor caseloads) submitted by LMSW/LCSW-C medical case managers for medical case management services.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Coordinates seamless integration with HIV medical Services and STD/HIV Testing Services with HIV Client Services.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Participation in grant writing activities.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Knowledge of Ryan White Care Act Grant Activities, including budgeting and reporting.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Ensure compliance with legal and funding mandates.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Participation in regional and state HIV planning and coordination meetings.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Oversight of Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS, \xe2\x80\x9cHOPWA\xe2\x80\x9d and Ryan White Part B housing subsidy programs, including approving monthly payments, budgeting, monitoring and reporting.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Participates in the creation and implementation of the county\'s Ending the HIV Epidemic initiative.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Actively participates in all required program audits
Employees will need to operate a motor vehicle to transport supplies, and equipment, to other locations to perform these duties and would require the need to lift and carry, and manage stairs with equipment, and supplies.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Possession of a Master\'s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited college or university that meets the criteria of a graduate social work program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
Experience: Four (4) years of full-time experience performing advanced journey-level social work case management duties (see Note below) in a public sector, health, mental health, social services, housing, or community- based services related program of which one (1) year was in a supervisory or lead capacity supervising, training, or orienting lower-level social workers, students, interns, or other staff.
Note: Qualifying social work case management includes direct case work management, such as: assessment and evaluation; conducting investigations of abuse and neglect; preparing court reports; responsibility for a long term caseload, monitoring compliance through home calls and other personal contact; collaboration with other agencies and linking clients to resources and programs; development of a case plan and modification of case plans as needed/required; and authority to impose sanctions or implement actions that impact services.
