Job Summary
The Support LPN is responsible for implementing best practices for infection prevention strategies related to hand hygiene, urinary catheter utilization, central line utilization, and infection prevention strategies related to catheter-associated urinary tract infections, central line associated bloodstream infection preventions, hospital-acquired clostridium difficile infections, and multidrug resistant organism infections. This staff member will assist with chart reviews, review of best practices, rounding face-to-face with staff for promotion of best practice and high performance, including review with primary nurses regarding device utilization, alternatives for use, review of culture practices and procedures, and promotion of general infection prevention strategies.
Job Requirements
Education
Required: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
Experience
Preferred: Previous nursing experience preferred
Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrates effective knowledge of scope of practice
Exhibits valuable time management skills
Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills
Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Required: LPN license and IV Certification active in the state of Missouri
