Job Summary and Qualifications

The Nurse Supervisor coordinates the activities of professional and non-professional personnel to function as a team providing services to meet patient/family and staff needs in the absence of the department manager and hospital administration. As a professional, you will have a responsibility to maintain clinical competence through Continuing Education, literature review, and participation in the Quality Improvement process.
  • Collaborate with department leadership to optimize staffing of nursing units within available resources and productivity benchmarks.
  • Rounds to all units 2-3 times/shift and serves as a clinical resource and role model for patient care personnel.
  • Encourage patient care staff to explore innovations in delivery of patient care, and for better utilization of time and nursing personnel.
  • Provide guidance and counsel to nursing personnel in absence of department leadership.
  • Prioritization, coordination and collaboration of all transfers through off site transfer center and centralized bed placement.
  • Organize daily huddles to discuss capacity and staffing
  • Oversee multidisciplinary rounds with hospitalists on daily basis
  • Respond to all in-facility emergency codes
  • Provides guidance on productivity, quality and customer service metrics
  • Provide service recovery to patients and families
Qualifications:
  • A Registered Nurse from an accredited school of nursing preferably with a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing
  • Current NH or compact state RN license
  • Minimum of 3-5 years clinical nursing experience
