Join the team supporting the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Program by joining the Mission Operations Reentry Systems team as a Systems Engineer Staff. We support the field centers and facilities as well as the operational readiness and safety of the Navy\'s Strategic Weapons Systems. Your primary responsibilities of this organization include: FBM United States (US) and United Kingdom (UK) Deployed Reentry Systems including Mk4, Mk4A, and Mk5 Reentry Body Assembly (RBA) Program and Hardware Engineering, as well as supporting Mk7 Development Program.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead Deployed Reentry Systems IPT supporting Mk7
  • Responsible to create and maintain engineering requirement documentation, procedures and source data.
  • Communicate and coordinate across both internal and external stakeholders during program and hardware development process
  • Represent Deployed Reentry during major program reviews
  • Lead/Perform Root Cause and Corrective Action Analyses. Develop processes and oversight for Quality Trend Assessment.
  • Customer Interface
  • Knowledge transfer/training to develop other engineers
  • Liaison to re-entry systems production team
Basic Qualifications
  • Experience with systems engineering processes with integration, test, and design reviews.
  • Experience leading an engineering team dedicated to deployed system support of military programs
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance, thus US citizenship is required
Desired skills
  • Experience with export control policies/ITAR
  • Current PR/MRB certification or experience with quality management and corrective action
  • Experience with FBM Support Equipment development and problem investigations, including proofings
  • Experience with procurement processes of DoD Hardware
  • Experience with Eastern Range, Strategic Weapons Facilities, and Department of Energy
  • Experience with Reentry documentation and proofings
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Security Clearance Information

This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
