Job Summary:
The Tally provide direction and communication to stackers on their priorities for the day, communicates labor needs with the Production Supervisor, is responsible for accurately tagging product into inventory, and is responsible for turning sizes on and off when needed from the visual of the current cut bill.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Provides Error report to supervisor at the end of shift.
Do a walk through at the start of every shift to confirm product is correctly turned on.
Print Visual of the cut bill - All items that are on and are ready to be planned.
Check open slots/gates. Turn on the cut stock necessary for each gate, for the cutting bill visual and for all sizes, if you run out, reach out to supervisor.
Tag and label units with the inventory tag, help band units and prepare for Material Handler to pick-up within 10-15 minutes.
Coordinate unit returns in 7NC.
Tag and label boxes off the core sort, back rip and the Opti 2 line. Display the correct info on both tags written on the front of the boxes, the placard needs to be on the front of the box to identify what is in the box.
Check for orders that are close to being filled. Count pieces needed, check units and update the visual. Communicate with upstairs to verify sizes are on.
Write everything down in the order it was completed, include voided tags using the Tally Sheet.
Instruct employees during downtime where to clean-up, feed the chipper or cut stickers and repurpose reclaim material. Areas that can be cleaned: East wall Opti., Ripsaw in-feed (outside). Under the ripsaw (inside) when ripsaw is not running and locked out. North walkway, sweep off the back of bins. Work areas. Box sorts, pick up blocks and sweep. Sweep concrete pad in 900 (West side).
Make sure the core sort stays fed and caught up.
Ensure the floor is caught up so there are no shutdowns.
All Nampa items need to be wrapped. Do not leave any units that need to be wrapped for the next shift. Outside orders need to be wrapped.
Housekeeping is a priority, do not leave a mess for the next shift.
Maintaining the importance of quality for customer needs such as length, defects, width, stacking quality and confirm piece counts are correct.
Train team on work-related tasks.
Floor Lead Responsibilities
Support direction by Shift Supervisor.
Help out with stacking as needed.
Assist in monitoring break times and help cover breaks.
Enforce safety procedures and protocols.
Assist and communicate with supervisor concerning injury reports.
Help employees with safety cards.
Enduring staffing is placed of importance of production flow.
Ensure proper levels of supplies.
Requirements:
High school diploma.
Ability to provide leadership to others.
Proficient in using Microsoft Office products and ability to learn other software applications.
Previous SAP experience is desirable, but not required.
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands and work environment are representative of a typical manufacturing environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level is moderate to high depending on the area of the mill. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. Requires close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds and is regularly exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and extreme hot and cold temperatures.
Travel:
This position does not require travel to other Woodgrain locations.
