Job Description


Overview:Manages the day-to-day activities, sales, compliance, and operations of the Olgoonik Fuel Station, including but not limited to delivery of fuel.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership and compliance with Fuel Station operations, Village obligations, inventory control, and internal company policies and procedures.
  • Full knowledge and ability to transfer and/or deliver fuel in the Community.
  • Establishes communication with manager and other leadership.
  • Prepares needed reports and email correspondence.
  • Maintains schedules to specific duties such as customer service, fuel deliveries or repair work.
  • Ensures that operation staff follows internal HSE policies.
  • Maintains team solution-based mentality to provide quality service to customers.
  • Provides support to solutions and improvement to operational challenges set by manager.
  • Reconcile cash with gasoline pump meter readings, sales slips, and credit card charges.
  • Receive and inventory gasoline, oil, automotive accessories, and parts.
  • Must accomplish the necessary tasks stated in the NSB Contract for the fuel division.
  • Requires a non-standard work week. Periodic overtime will be required. Must be able to handle callouts on a rotational basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain CDL with Hazmat and attend all training.
Supervisory Responsibilities:Direct supervision of employees at the fuel station, including training, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, communicating with the manager for all discipline of employee(s), addressing complaints, and resolving problems.Education and/or Experience:
  • Post-secondary education or 1.5 years experience with Tank Farm Operations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of accounting, database, inventory, order processing, and Microsoft Suites.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Speak positively regarding aspects of the community and all village life
  • Excellent math and analytical skills
  • Must demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member and lead a team.
  • Develop and maintain a work ethic necessary for success in the workplace, which includes honesty, integrity, dependability, punctuality, and self-discipline.
  • Ability to multitask efficiently, work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects and have a strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness and ability to perform manual work associated with the position.
  • Take on a leadership role while working in the back office.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Commercial Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License.
  • First Aide Card.
  • 40 Hour Hazardous Waste Operations (Hazwopper).
  • Person in Charge (PIC) Certification.

Job requires performing tasks on all areas and aspects of a construction project.Work Environment:The work location is in rural Alaska and may include exposure to extreme temperatures. Work is regularly performed indoors and outdoors in all types of weather conditions, including snow, rain, sleet, extreme winds, or ice storms. Work may be performed near moving mechanical parts and/or vibration. Workers may be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail. Workers may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, or electrical shock hazards.
