Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer for the 2024 tax season. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of tax regulations and financial concepts, with the ability to prepare accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses. This role requires excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting software.

Duties

Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for individuals, small business, corporations and partnerships using Drake software. Advise clients on tax strategies and financial planning to minimize liabilities. Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks to manage client accounts effectively. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance. Conduct thorough interviews with clients face-to-face, virtually or over the phone. Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns promptly. Maintain organized and secure records of client data.

Experience

Proven experience in accounting or as a tax clerk is required. Proficient in 10 key typing for efficient data entry. Strong understanding of financial concepts related to taxation. Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks is highly desirable. Experience using Drake tax software is highly desirable. Experience using Microsoft Excel. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously.

Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 25 per week
