Centrally located on Interstate 94 less than 25 miles northwest of Maple Grove and 30 miles southeast of Saint Cloud, Monticello is home to five brick and mortar schools and two nature-based facilities serving more than 4,000 students annually. Monticello consistently ranks in the top 50 school districts in the state as measured by a number of organizations and metrics, and performs above the state average in graduation rates, test scores, and early college opportunities.Position Overview:
Monticello High School is seeking a full-time Career and Technical Education (CTE) Teacher for grades 9-12. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage students in hands-on, career-focused learning experiences that prepare them for success in post-secondary education, technical training, and the workforce.The ideal candidate will hold a Minnesota CTE teaching license in one or more of the following areas:

  • Transportation (Automotive classes)
  • Manufacturing (Including welding)
  • Communications & Technology
  • Industrial Arts & Construction
  • Creative Design
  • Health Sciences
  • Computer Science

  • Develop and implement engaging, hands-on instruction aligned with industry standards and best practices.
  • Provide students with real-world experiences that foster career readiness, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional methods, including project-based learning and technology integration, to enhance student engagement.
  • Maintain and ensure the proper use of equipment, tools, and safety procedures in the learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, industry professionals, and community partners to develop opportunities for student internships, job shadows, and mentorships.
  • Support students in earning industry-recognized certifications when applicable.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and administration to support student success.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with trends in Career & Technical Education.
  • Opportunities available to coach or serve as an advisor for student organizations and extracurricular activities.
Qualifications:
  • Valid Minnesota CTE Teaching License in an applicable field (preferred).
  • Industry professionals with relevant field experience may be considered for alternative licensure pathways.
  • Strong communication and technology skills.
  • Passion for hands-on, experiential learning and career readiness.
  • Ability to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Commitment to professional growth and collaboration.
