Toddler Team Lead Teacher
8:00-5:00, Monday-Friday
Starting wage $20
Under the direction of the CC Program Director, The Child Care Team Lead Teacher provides work direction for team members in the classroom(s) and oversees and ensures success of program delivery. The incumbent works cooperatively with team members in the classroom and administrators to carry out the child care mission and vision. The incumbent provides quality childcare services to children and families that focus on the YMCA core values: equity honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
2. Essential Functions:
\xc2\xb7 Work with supervisor to implement curriculum within the established guidelines.
\xc2\xb7 Meet the social, emotional, physical, cognitive and language development of the children
\xc2\xb7 Develop and maintain a positive classroom community
\xc2\xb7 Make ongoing, systemic observations and evaluations of each child
\xc2\xb7 Design and implement daily lesson/activity plans.
\xc2\xb7 Engage, develop and ensure the safety of the children.
\xc2\xb7 Oversee all activities in the classroom.
\xc2\xb7 Conduct family conferences and maintain communication with families.
\xc2\xb7 Maintain program site and equipment.
\xc2\xb7 Onboard, train, develop, and provide work direction to team members.
\xc2\xb7 Provide work direction to team members while on duty and assist in training.
\xc2\xb7 Assist with annual performance reviews and applicant interviews within the child care program.
\xc2\xb7 May support the Asst. Director/Program Director in providing daily leadership and communication to team members and families.
\xc2\xb7 Maintain required program records and children\'s files.
\xc2\xb7 Maintain licensing/NAEYC accreditation requirements.
\xc2\xb7 Maintain CACFP and Minnesota Department of Health Licensing for meals and snacks, Licensing standards, NAEYC, Parent Aware if applicable.
\xc2\xb7 Attend. Required meetings, trainings, and other activities.
3. Relationships:
The incumbent interacts regularly with children, parents, and team members. The incumbent oversees and directs the daily work duties of the child care aides/assistant teachers within the classroom. This position involves interaction with parents, children, and staff from a variety of diverse backgrounds.
4. Qualifications:
Required:
\xc2\xb7 Meet Minnesota DHS Rule 3 or Wisconsin HFS 46 Teacher qualifications, including yearly in service requirements.
\xc2\xb7 Minimum 21 years of age.
\xc2\xb7 Adult and child CPR or CPR/PR, First Aid, and AED Certifications within 30 days of hire date.
\xc2\xb7 Commitment to working with children in a developmental setting and a sincere desire to have a meaningful effect on their lives.
\xc2\xb7 Ability to plan, organize and implement program activities.
\xc2\xb7 Excellent skills in teaching, communication, and human relations.
\xc2\xb7 Ability to work with diverse populations.
Preferred:
\xc2\xb7 Meet NAEYC accreditation requirements
\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of CACFP Program requirements
\xc2\xb7 Previous work experience leading programming for children
\xc2\xb7 Supervisory experience
5. Work Conditions:
\xc2\xb7 Perform all physical aspects of the position, including frequently moving around, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.
\xc2\xb7 Ability to recognize and react calmly and effectively in hazardous/dangerous situations.
\xc2\xb7 May provide children with assistance in dealing with issues such as personal hygiene, medical needs, toileting, diapering, lifting, writing, feeding, and getting in or out of transportation.
\xc2\xb7 May be exposed to verbal outbursts, physical actions or bodily fluids as part of the child care environment.
\xc2\xb7 Ability to travel to other branches and programs
\xc2\xb7 Must be flexible to work varying hours to meet the needs of the site
