Performs procedures and related techniques, producing images for interpretation by a Radiologist. Exercises professional judgement in patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of procedures with A+ care for all patients. Essential Functions \xe2\x80\xa2 Prepares patient for procedures: providing instructions to obtain results and answers questions regarding risks and adverse reactions. \xe2\x80\xa2 Verify patient identification by checking for correct patient information for procedure. \xe2\x80\xa2 Complete patient information sheet to obtain history prior to exam. \xe2\x80\xa2 Prepares and administers various forms of radioactive materials. \xe2\x80\xa2 Administer intravenous injections. \xe2\x80\xa2 Selects and operates nuclear medicine equipment. \xe2\x80\xa2 Positions patients to best demonstrate area of interest. \xe2\x80\xa2 Determines best technical factors for quality images. \xe2\x80\xa2 Apply principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self and others. \xe2\x80\xa2 Evaluates images for proper technique and assuring proper identification. \xe2\x80\xa2 Addresses patient concerns. \xe2\x80\xa2 Properly sends films to the PACS system, check, and present it to radiologist before patient dismissal. \xe2\x80\xa2 Practice Universal Precautions. \xe2\x80\xa2 Certified in basic CPR. \xe2\x80\xa2 Keep records required by the Alabama Department of Public health and performs duties in accordance with Radiation Protection Guidelines. \xe2\x80\xa2 Responsible for helping train new personnel in area. \xe2\x80\xa2 Maintain positive working relationship with other areas in the office. \xe2\x80\xa2 Monitors the status of equipment repairs and preventive maintenance. \xe2\x80\xa2 Responsible for control of inventory of supplies for area. \xe2\x80\xa2 Maintains the cleanliness and organization of the work area. \xe2\x80\xa2 Must have knowledge of RIS/PACS computer system. \xe2\x80\xa2 Able to locate crash cart, emergency drug box, fire alarm pulls and extinguisher, and emergency exits. \xe2\x80\xa2 Be able to operate PET scannerBenefits, Special Incentives & Perks:
