Location: West Fargo, ND, Bismarck, ND, or Gwinner, ND.

Doosan Bobcat is seeking a Technical Writer who will focus on authoring technical content for Bobcat products that will be used to create Operation & Maintenance manuals, Service manuals, and Installation instructions. The candidate will become a product or systems subject matter expert by tracking engineering change notices, gaining hands-on experience with Bobcat products, and collaborating with product design teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background with an interest in research and writing.

Role & Responsibility

Technical Content Authoring

• Author technical content for product manuals and instructions. Content may be for new products or revised products.
• Lead efforts to proofread the authored content with subject matter experts and revise content based on feedback.

System Expertise

• Acquire expertise in Bobcat products by learning to operate the products.
• Assemble and disassemble mechanical components and document processes.

Engineering Change Notice (ECN) Tracking

• Track Engineering Change Notices and identify information to add or revise in product manuals or instructions.

Product Design Team Participation

• Participate in product design team activities to identify information to add or revise in product manuals or instructions.

Job Requirement

• Education Required: Associates degree in Technical, Communications, or related field. Sufficient relevant mechanical experience in lieu of degree accepted.
• Experience Required:

2 years * Travel Required:

10% * Mechanical experience preferred

• Technical authoring
• Technical knowledge of construction, automotive, or similar equipment.
• Use of technical authoring software, with a DITA xml compliant system preferred.
• Attention to detail
• Teamwork
