Provides patient care as directed by the professional registered nurse and/or Physician and is accountable for own actions under this direction. Provides a caring relationship that facilitates health and healing and delivers care in a manner that preserves and protects patient autonomy, dignity and rights. Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
Carries out initial vision assessment
Performs auto-refraction measurements
Conducts pupil and Visual Field assessment
Performs ophthalmic imaging studies
Administers anesthetic and dilating medications
Performs surgical measurements
Coordinates surgical planning
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements, Preferences and Experience
Education
Minimum: Knowledge, skills and mental development equivalent to completion of 4 years of high school, or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
Preferred: 1 year relevant experience in a clinic, medical office, or hospital setting.
Licensure, Registration, Certification
Minimum: BLS within 14 days of hire.
