MRI Tech
THE MRI Tech is responsible for operating MR and radiographic machines and processors, analyzing body habitus to correctly adjunct technical factors, position the body correctly, review physicians written orders to obtain pertinent clinical data to consistently produce high-quality radiographs, and reduce unnecessary radiation to patients and oneself. Candidate must have the ability to acquire IV access and administer contrast material with power injector preferred. In addition, the Tech will be responsible in completing department orientation and/or competency skills as required.

Essential Job Duties:

The MRI Tech performs all appropriate procedures in the computer as needed (i.e. scheduling exams, completing exams by computer terminal, and proper charging of supplies, etc.). Completes all proper forms (i.e. pregnancy and contrast form) and scans forms into PACS system. Documents any work related incident (i.e. patient fall, IV extravasation, work-related injury, etc.) through the designated program in a timely manner. Lastly, reports immediately to Imaging Lead/Supervisor/Director or designee any equipment problems such as: x-ray, processors, computers, etc.. Other related duties such as, but not limited to: stocking rooms, maintaining clean work area, transporting patients, training new employees, etc.
Qualifications

Required:

• Current BLS
• Venipuncture Certification
• Certification from a certified Magnetic Resonance Imaging School or AART MRI

Preferred:

• Minimum two (2) years\xe2\x80\x99 experience as a registered Radiology Technologist in an acute care facility
• Minimum three (3) years\xe2\x80\x99 MR experience
• Active California Radiology Technology (CRT) license along with fluoro licensure
• American Registry of Radiology Technologists (AART) license.
