JOB SUMMARY
Processing telephone calls accurately and efficiently through an advanced/computerized telephone console for all entities of the Blessing Health System. The position uses all available directories and resources to page and locate physicians and personnel. Serves as an answering service for various departments, entities and individuals (ie Home Care, Hospice, Heart team, Administrator on-call, etc). Serves as an 24-hour answering service for Blessing Physician Services physicians. Acts as a 24-hour emergency response center and notifies appropriate personnel of all hospital emergencies. Includes paging of rapid response team, lift team, etc. Includes urgent/emergency paging of personnel utilizing 2-way radio equipment. Respond to emergency phone calls sent to the x5555 Telephone Hot Line (equivalent to internal 911). Perform monitoring of various monitoring systems. Includes: Hospital Fire Alarm Panels (multiple campuses), Pharmacy refrigeration and access control alarms, HUGS infant abduction system, Severe weather, Electrical generator. Respond to distress alarm panic buttons located at various locations throughout the Blessing campuses. Collate physician protocol/on-call calendar for multiple Blessing and non-Blessing physician groups/practices into a centralized database. Perform major updates monthly and minor updates daily.
Includes weekly EMTALA (Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act) calendar update to ensure correct physician paging and subsequent compensation in accordance with federal regulations. Deliver replacement and special needs Telecommunications hardware/services (ie telephone handsets, amplified handsets, speakerphones, call cords, coordinate remote language translation services, etc) to patient care areas upon request. Provide new and replacement pocket pager hardware to patient care staff (including nursing and physicians). Delivers (emergency) overhead paging messages to appropriate zones/speakers located throughout the Blessing Health System. Perform clerical duties as needed to support the needs of the department and its customers. Participate in departmental and organizational special committees.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Training/Experience:
REQUIRED:
High School Graduate or equivalent
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to function at a high level in urgent and emergent situations and during times of high call volume
Ability to successfully multi-task
PREFERRED:
Experience with Microsoft Office products
Telephone switchboard or call center experience
License/Certifications/Special Requirements:
